Erica T. Kuhlmann is a transformative leader with nearly four decades of experience in corporate and investment banking, and a deep commitment to economic empowerment. She currently serves as President and CEO of the Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC), where she leads a dynamic team dedicated to accelerating the growth of women-owned and diverse businesses across the region.

Before joining WBDC, Erica spent over 35 years in the financial sector, most recently as Managing Director and Sector Head of the Food, Consumer, and Agribusiness Group at BMO Bank. There, she built and led one of the most successful industry-focused banking franchises in North America, generating over $250 million in annual revenues and overseeing the integration of a $6 billion capital platform. Her leadership was marked by strategic innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and a strong focus on client relationships.

Erica began her career at Harris Bank, where she helped expand the bank’s footprint into new markets, including the West Coast, which now accounts for a significant portion of industry revenues. Throughout her career, she has been a champion for women in finance, serving as Co-Executive Sponsor of BMO’s Alliance for Women and a leader in the bank’s Forum for Executive Women.

She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA from Northwestern University. Erica also serves as an Independent Director for Bronco Wine Company and has held board roles with Naturally Chicago, the Chicagoland Food and Beverage Network, and the International Agribusiness Management Association.
